ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s high-profile meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska ended without progress on Ukraine.

Despite pageantry surrounding the summit, including a red-carpet welcome for Putin, no ceasefire or peace agreement was reached.

Putin reportedly demanded Ukraine surrender Donetsk in exchange for freezing front lines, a proposal swiftly rejected by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukraine’s exclusion from the talks drew criticism across Europe, where leaders warned that any settlement without Kyiv’s involvement would lack legitimacy.

Analysts said the meeting bolstered Putin’s image while leaving U.S. and European allies uneasy.

Trump also faced scrutiny after footage showed him struggling to walk during the event, raising fresh questions about his health.

The Alaska summit underscored the gulf between symbolism and substance, leaving the conflict unresolved and diplomacy strained.
